Our New Pres

Tuesday Obama got elected
Wednesday He united the country
Thursday He ended our wars
Friday He fixed our economy
Saturday He created world peace
Sunday He rests

Whether you like it or not Barack Obama is our President. Whether you agree with his policies, vision or ideology, it does not matter now. Obama is starting with a clean slate. Until he proves he is not capable we must support him. Politicians say and do all sorts of things to get elected. Maybe there is somethings he said and did that he did not mean. Maybe he didn't say or do things he meant. The point is, he is our president. I believe Obama is going to be our next great president or the next Jimmy Carter. That still remains to be seen. Perhaps he is the one who will restore prosperity to our nation or we are at the beginning of the end. Tuesday was a great day for our nation. Let's hope the great days continue.

the rich and their gifts

I have nothing against the rich and hope to be extremely rich one day. But I have made a small observation.

A rich person will buy a poor family member or a friend a gift within that persons means. For example a shirt and tie.

But he will buy a rich friend or a rich associate something expensive. For example a rolex.

How superficial is our society?

The powerful clowns

How is this for Irony?

During every period in history Kings, Emperors, Presidents.... just about every rich person or person in power hired jesters for entertainment. The jesters had no say so. They sang, danced, and entertained the important people. The jesters were paid small wages and couldn't influence the public. Afterall, they were jesters.

Now our politicians have no influence and get paid low wages. Meanwhile our modern jesters a.k.a. musicians, actors and athletes can influence the public and get paid millions. The jesters get on t.v. or the radio or the internet and speak their mind. Why? I don't know. Afterall, to me they are just jesters.

I understand some of these jesters are actually smart people. But they should stick to singing, dancing, and shut the hell up.

No leadership

Wow! the greatest country in the world! Will the real leaders of this country please stand up?

How is it that the Presdential race is close? On one side you have a Senator who would win if the head of his political party hadn’t done such a fabulous job the last 8 years. On the other hand you have another Senator whose has tremendous charisma, fits the mold for the current times and has a prodigious following. I’m pretty certain on who is going to win, but that is not my point.

We have no great leaders in our country. We have some good leaders, but not great.
Governors, Senators, Mayors, Executives, Generals, Billionaire Entrepreneurs, HOLLYWOOD ACTORS, MUSICIANS, PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES, and this is the best we’ve got for the country’s top job. Maybe we need better Presidential incentives. More oral and more money! It worked for Clinton. In fact it worked so well, he tried getting his wife in the White House in the hopes of getting some residual First Man oral.

I can sit here and tell all the good and bad things about M.C. Cane and Barack the one Kanobi. But that’s not my point. You probably made up your mind already.
My point is why can’t we find better candidates? A candidate with executive or real leadership experience, with a successful record of course. This way I don’t have to HOPE for CHANGE, I know what I am getting. A hard liner against terrorist, but kind hearted towards our people. In other words, not a bleeding heart liberal or a stone heart conservative. Doesn’t practice a radical religion. What ever spiritual believes IT has, IT keeps to itself and separates church and state. Understands the economy and Military affairs. Someone who looks, talks and act the part. Where are you?

We have America’s Got Talent and American Idol. Why can’t we have “Dancing with the Presidential talent Idol”. Then we wouldn’t need polls, debates or overpaid campaigns.

The F@#king MEDIA(*)

34 days 11 hours 38 minutes 30 seconds…. No. 27 seconds…. No 23 seconds….

The DOW is down 347.08… down 346.01… down 348.57… 350.87

Do we really need a daily, hourly counter to Election Day? I can’t wait till November 6. Yeah, that’s two days after the elections. Hopefully by then this 2 year plaque of media election coverage will end. We won’t need to listen to these polls taken by I don’t know who, that conveniently favor that particular news channel. Have you ever been polled (I am talking about a political poll, Stop it.)?These polls and false propaganda ads serve as a self-fulfilled prophecy for the media’s agenda.

It’s about ratings and sensationalism. Oh!, and hysteria.

What purpose does a second by second update on the DOW serve? The shakers and movers don’t depend on CNN, MSNBC, or NBC’s ticker to make their decisions. Now, average Joes who don’t know any better see these tickers, panic, and then want to sell their shares. In turn the market falls faster. The ticker goes lower and the cycle continues. Great way to support the American economy. Don’t get me wrong, I believe the public needs to be informed. But the public can be well informed through professional and ethical journalism. There is no need for the added drama.

I’m sure this type of freedom of the press is not what our forefathers intended. Fortunately for them they didn’t have Hollywood inspiration and showbiz tonight to help the process.

Latest polls show: Obama is leading in working class men who snorkel on sundays.
McCain is leading in working class men who bowl on thursdays.
Obama is leading in trust fund babies that drive SAAB cars.
McCain is leading in women that wear thongs.

* no this asterisk doesn't mean my blog takes steroids, it means the fact that I have to sensor my language says a lot about our culture.

Worrying about others

There is a gay client that goes to the business where I work. He is a respected businessman and a great person. We start talking about politics. He says he doesn’t like the Republican Party because they do not support his life style. I tell him that he has every right to think that way. I tell him the problem is that Americans worry too much about other people’s lives. He says we should worry about others. I tell him if it means being concerned of others well-being then YES. But not if it means worrying about other's lifestyle.

He starts poking fun of Sarah Palin suggesting the fact that she enjoys hunting is very red-neck of her and for uncivilized people.

I said, there you go… that is the problem. You are an American worrying about someone else’s lifestyle, a lifestyle that doesn’t necessarily affect you.
He said he doesn’t believe in hunting.

I tell him, many people do not support homosexuality but instead of leaving you alone, they want to make legislature to impede your inalienable rights. You see the irony. Both you and hunters like playing with guns, just different guns in different ways.

I tell him that out of all people, he should be the most understanding, that different breeds have different needs. By being prejudice he is no different than the narrow minded, nasty “Repu….” that don’t agree with his life style.

The point is if you worry about others in the sense that you would like to help them, then you should worry. But if you choose to be prejudice of someone else’s lifestyle because it’s different from yours, then you are the problem. If you want to be a bible thumper... do it. if you want to date the same sex... do it. if you want to stand in front of a 7/11 while wearing a skirt on your head and eating Cheetos... do it. As long as your not a murdering terrorist, a pedophile or any of the other sick professions that hurt innocent people, you should have the freedom to do what ever it is that floats your boat.
